Hi! I'm Jamie.

I’m a writer, photographer, designer, creative-for-hire and all around jack of all trades living in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with the love of my life and two tiny ladies in our tiny apartment filled with far too many books. When I’m not taking photos or writing you’ll either find me in my favorite chair with a cup of hot tea and a good book or deep in conversation with my fantastically fascinating friends. I have a deep love for all things science, culture and creative and pride myself in being a lifelong student of all that is nerdlike. I try to use my cherished degree in Journalism to make my parents proud by writing for several national outlets on the topics of pop culture, tech, gender and science and actively seek to engage in intelligent discussions about the state of those subjects on an annoyingly regular basis.

I try to fill my life with all manner of creative endeavors and thus I’m almost always elbows deep in some kind of project. I created this blog as a love story to my life and the people I love as well as a way for me to share what captures me and to also inspire myself to be more creative and open minded in every aspect of my life. I hope you’ll join in the discussion and enjoy the journey through the eccentricities of my curiosity!

A Bit of Background

Jamie grew up on a farm on North Carolina’s eastern coast. After gaining her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Philosophy, she moved to beautiful historic Charleston, South Carolina where she met her handsome boyfriend Patrick and spent her days lounging and dreaming out on Folly Beach. After immersing herself in work with technology and training, she and Patrick moved up to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to dig in deeper to the STEM field and enjoy some quality time with family and friends.

With her background in technology, writing,  philosophy and the creative she spends her days managing digital content and training for an awesome software company in the RTP and her free time writing and editing for freelance clients. She's hard at work on producing her first novel as well, because, why not? She has taken the plunge into programming and is excited to develop her first iOS app because, well, it’s street cred in these parts and she’s happy to oblige. Writing, designing, photographing and general creating is what makes her world go round and she is happy to spend as much time as possible working on it.
